Myofascial Release
Myofascial release reduces adhesions between muscle and fascia to provide pain relief, increase mobility, and improve performance.
Myofascial Release (Scraping) in Charlotte, NC
Myofascial Release is great for tight, stubborn muscles. We use two methods – manual or with an instrument.
Manually, our doctors may do soft-tissue work in the form of Active Release, or Trigger Point Therapy (ART) to loosen up your neck, for example, before an adjustment. It feels much like a targeted massage.
The second style of Myofascial Release offered is known as Graston Technique, or Scraping.
Scraping technique utilizes a stainless steel instrument paired with coconut oil to slide across the skin that is covering dysfunctional muscle or fascial tissue. This method is designed to break up adhesions (microscopic scar tissue) between painful, problematic muscles and their fascial covering.
