Dry Needling is a great treatment modality to attack muscular trigger points that are causing pain, discomfort and even dysfunction. This treatment is performed by inserting very thin needles directly into myofascial trigger points. By doing so, the needles create a subcutaneous lesion, thus signaling your body to begin physiological process of tissue repair. In short, the needles jump-start the healing process which in turn leads to a shorter recovery. It should be known: the needles being used are much smaller than injection needles. The process is far less painful than getting a shot, and there is no medication injected during the treatment.
Dry needling relieves muscular pain and tightness and improves range of motion and arterial blood flow to dysfunctional tissue to accelerate recovery time.
